چکیده

An ultracentrifuge experiment was performed on a pure liquid-indium at centrifugal acceleration field of 8.2x10 g at 300°C for 100 hours. The isotope ratio measurements were performed on the centrifuged specimen, which was cooled and solidified before release the acceleration, with Secondary Ion Mass Spectrometer (CAMECA IMS-6f). In/In isotope ratio on the specimen changed with negative gradient in the direction of centrifugal acceleration approximately 1.4%. The measurement result indicated that the heavy In isotopes moved in the direction of the centrifugal acceleration and the light In isotopes moved in the counter direction in the specimen.

Expression pattern of neurotrophins and their receptors during neuronal differentiation of adipose-derived stem cells in simulated microgravity condition

Objective(s): Studies have confirmed that microgravity, as a mechanical factor, influences both differentiation and function of mesenchymal stem cells. Here we investigated the effects of simulated microgravity on neural differentiation of human adipose-derived stem cells (ADSCs). Materials and Methods:We have used a fast rotating clinostat (clinorotation) to simulate microgravity condition. R...

The Role of Microgravity in Cancer: A Dual-edge Sword

Since human beings could travel beyond the earth atmosphere, scientists started to investigate the effect of microgravity on human cells. Microgravity has different effects on normal and cancer cells, but the related mechanisms are not well-known till now. The aim of the present review is to focus on the consequences of exposing the cancer cells to reduced gravity. Some cancer cells organize th...

Research Paper: Investigating Morphologic Changes and Viability of Rats’ Bone Marrow Mesenchymal Stem Cells in Microgravity

Introduction: Mesenchymal Stem Cells (MSCs) are multipotent cells capable of duplication and auto-recovery and distinction from various cells including chondrocytes, adipocytes, chondroblasts, fibroblasts, and osteoblasts. Human stem cells are always subject to local and external mechanical loads. External loads are caused by physical activity in external environment loading to infliction of st...

CD44 expression changes and increased apoptosis in MCF-7 cell line of breast cancer in simulated microgravity condition

Introduction: Studies have shown that simulated microgravity (SMG) affects tumor cell proliferation and metastasis. However, the underlying mechanism and its molecular basis are still not well known. In recent years, due to the role of CD44 in breast cancer and its high expression in invasive basal tumors, it has been the subject of extensive research. There is a conflicting data on the role of...
